Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

“It was a library. High pieces of furniture, of black violet ebony inlaid with brass, supported upon their wide shelves a great number of books uniformly bound. They followed the shape of the room, terminating at the lower part in huge divans, covered with brown leather, which were curved, to afford the greatest comfort. Light movable desks, made to slide in and out at will, allowed one to rest one’s book while reading.

“Mehrunissa carefully chose a set of sunset-pink pearls. A broad belt studded with hundreds of pearls went around her slender waist. Armlets were tied at the ends of her sleeves. A round gold disc, encrusted with pearls hanging from a slender gold chain, was pinned to her hair, the disc dangling in the center of her forehead. Ten pearl bangles went on each wrist, and finally a small, beautiful, perfect pearl was put in her pierced nose. “

  1. I love your top ten here. I also have Miss Peregrine's for months now, but haven't had a chance to read through it yet. I have a feeling I won't be able to put it down. I echo the sentiments of the others: do read Hunger Games first as the movie will be shown in a few days. 🙂 Was one of my favorite series last year. We have also done a review of The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland. And of course, Hugo is a must-read. 🙂

Here's my TT for the week:

  2. Ha–your #10 made me laugh! That's how I feel. I have so many books on my TBR list, it's impossible to make a new, smaller list from it! 😉 Definitely read The Hunger Games, as I have yet to meet someone who didn't enjoy them. I also heard good things about the King novel.

Thanks for sharing your choices. Check out my list at Bookwanderer!

    1. thank you! today's top 10 actually was one where I did not cheat too much.. I usually end up with at least 20+ books on my top 10 by sheer 'luck' and today was way less (though more than 10)
