Sunday Memes – last one for 2012

Change is inevitable
That is true, not a fable
And in that truth, I seek
A world where the meek
And the strong live in peace
A world that aims to please
A world of joy, of laughter too
A world wonderful for me and you

The photos – me at age 4 1/2 and me now! Change….

And as an addendum to this poem, after I read the quote by Martin Luther King . Jr.,(after the updated poem – Change is inevitable when we make it happen)

Change is inevitable
That is true, not a fable
And in that truth, I seek
A world where the meek
And the strong live in peace
A world that aims to please
A world of joy, of laughter too
A world wonderful for me and you
Let us make it happen.

‘Change
does not roll in on the wheels of inevitability, but comes through
continuous struggle. And so we must straighten our backs and work for
our freedom. A man can’t ride you unless your back is bent.’ –
Martin Luther King . Jr.

For Magpie Tales:
These ashes – whose?
These ends – whose?
Cigarette ends or coffin nails?
Storied people or forgotten tales?

For OSI – Watching, SYWord: offend (117 characters), Sunday Whirl – flame against brood point ice creek knead pop strewn deliver
tangent stars , Sunday Scribblings -defiant

Watching you watching me
Streamers strewn all around us
The champagne in ice
Waiting to hear the cork pop
No reason to brood
Our brood is fast asleep
Nothing to come against
Our party at least for now
Thank you dear I say
For all that you did today
Flowers you picked by the creek
Stars handpicked from the night sky
All this you delivered to me
And a wonderful knead of my tired muscles too!
So I should take care not to offend
And not go off on a tangent
Not be a wee bit defiant
From this smiling and praising
To pointing out your pointed nose
You might go up in flames
So I smile and say
Happy New Year dear!

  1. Exhaustively done, great! Change, in stylish rhymes and a generous offering to MLKJr and your loved one. Brilliant to start off for the ensuing year! Happy New Year, Lady!
