For Saturday Snapshot, a photo of a hawk (if anyone knows exactly which species of hawk it is, do let me know) I took as it sat perched on the tree in our front yard. My son (the bird-enthusiast) has narrowed it down to a couple but it is still difficult to figure it out.

Well captured. He's beautifully camoflauged in there.
great shot! 🙂
Wonderful! I'm an avid bird collector (not real, of course) and love capturing these beauties on camera when I can. Thanks for sharing. My Saturday pic is here: http://zaraalexis.wordpress.com/2013/01/19/saturday-snapshot-going-on-a-bear-hunt/

where do you live that you have hawks. the kitties say thank you-mine are indoor they would not be happy with a hawk hovering about.
That nice picture, excellent capture gorgeous that hawk.
First of all I would like to say awesome blog! I had a
quick question in which I'd like to ask if you do not mind. I was curious to know how you center yourself and clear your mind prior to writing. I've
had a hard time clearing my mind in getting my thoughts out there.
I do take pleasure in writing but it just seems like
the first 10 to 15 minutes are generally wasted simply just trying to
figure out how to begin. Any recommendations or hints?
Many thanks!

I believe it is a female Red Tailed Hawk. They are one of the largest hawks, common to most areas, and quite bold. They are, of course, birds of prey. Great picture!

That must have been so much fun! I love seeing big birds like that up close, but it's a rarity.
