Both excerpts today for Book
Beginnings: and The Friday 56 are from ‘The Little Prince’ by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
This book is an attempt to complete my challenges but again, it has been on
my tbr as well since I asked my son to read it sometime back.
The Friday 56
‘But if you come at just any time, I
shall never know at what hour my heart is to be ready to greet you… One must
observe the proper rites..’
Book
Beginnings:
‘Once when I was six years old I saw a
magnificent picture in a book, called True Stories from Nature, about the
primeval forest. It was a picture of a boa constrictor in the act of swallowing
an animal.’

NaBloPoMo’s
prompt for today: What is the hardest job you’ve ever done?
This sounds familiar to another question from earlier this month and the
answer remains the same – being a mom – it is a full-time job by itself. And when you are
a mom, you are also so many things more – a volunteer
at school for various activities, a cub scout den leader, a
classroom parent, a chaperone at field trips are few of them.
But in spite of all this, or rather because of all this, being a mom is also the funnest job I can have. I do not think any other job I do brings such gratification as being a mom does.
Some quotes about motherhood that I saw today:
“Insanity is hereditary; you get it from your children.” Sam Levenson
“Mothers are basically part of a scientific experiment to prove that
sleep is not a crucial part of human life.” Author Unknown ]
“(24/7) once you sign on to be a mother, that’s the only shift they offer.”
―
Jodi Picoult,
My Sister’s Keeper
And I put this post as Fun of Motherhood – part 1 – since these few words are definitely not enough to explain the total joys of motherhood (though yet they might)!
Leaves you something to ponder in that 56!
yes, it does.. this whole book, i am learning is something to ponder over
If I had seen that photo in the beginning of a book as a small child, I am afraid I'd be too frightened to look further!
Re: Friday 56: I like to be prepared as well! We recently sold our house and having to be constantly on stand-by in case we had a viewing was an uncomfortable way to live for sure! Glad that part is over!
