This month, I missed the #6degreesofseparation on the first Saturday, so here it is finally, along with my usual bookish five for Friday. The six degrees takes me from dangerous stuff to and maybe via an invisible string (well, maybe visible one, right) to the sweet love of grands and more.
I first read about the Invisible String theory in a children’s book (in today’s post below) and it is a beautiful one. It talks about how the interconnectedness we have with the ones we love, and is based on the thesis we are always linked to those we love, regardless of space and time, by this intangible invisible power of love. And Taylor Swift sings of this same thing when she croons, ‘Isn’t it just so pretty to think, all along there was some invisible string tying you to me?’

The Bookish Five: The Invisible String that Binds Us All
The Fall Risk is one of this month’s freebie read from Amazon First Reads, and I am actually reading it immediately after hitting ‘buy’ this time around. A quick, sweet, humorous read….

The Fall Risk: A Short Story by Abby Jimenez (Romance Shorts)
It’s Valentine’s Day weekend, and Charlotte and Seth are not looking for romance. Armed with emotional-support bear spray, Charlotte is in self-imposed isolation and on guard from men. Having a stalker can do that to a person’s nerves. Just across the hall and giving off woodsy vibes is Seth, a recently divorced arborist. As in today recently. Heights, he’s fine with. Trust? Not so much. But when disaster traps them one flight up and no way down, an outrageously precarious predicament forces a tree-loving guy and a rattled girl next door to embrace their captivity. Soon their defenses are breaking away. Considering how close they both are to the edge, Charlotte and Seth could be in danger of falling—in love.

Have you ever read a Nicholas Sparks romance novel? If so, what is your opinion on his endings?
Not yet.. I mention this in an earlier post here, and am yet to read one, though I have had one of his books on my shelves for a while now. Though I have seen The Notebook.
5 (well,) Six Degrees of Separation: Bound by an Invisible String?
The starter book for this month Dangerous Liaisons has one thing in common with previous starter books. I have not read it! But the difference – I don’t feel like I will be reading this one – am sure the writing is good given its staying power, but the content – not for me. Anyway, on to the pairs.

Dangerous Liaisons –> The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue –> The Invisible String -> The Remember Balloons -> Joy –> The Memory Keeper –> Love, Ruby Lavender –> Dangerous Liaisons
Dangerous Liaisons –> The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue
The link: France, and love (of sorts).
I am currently reading The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, and this is my first V. E. Schwab book. I am glad I am reading it, and feel this line from the book description captures my feeling well so far – “A Story You Will Never Forget.“
The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue –> The Invisible String
The link: ‘Invisible’ and once again, love (though in different ways)…
As I mentioned in my brief review of The Invisible String here, it is a book that shows that love is here to stay, and I love it for that feeling of solace it provides us.
The Invisible String -> The Remember Balloons
The link: Balloons/strings/love remains even if people do not (no matter why and how they are lost to us)
The cover of Invisible Strings reminds me of balloons, and hence the next book on the list is another heartwarming picture book, titled – The Remember Balloons. It can help explain memory loss with aging and diseases like Alzheimer’s to readers young and old. And be prepared with tissues for it is bound to tug at heartstrings and make you weepy.
The Remember Balloons -> Joy
The link: Memories, and love…
Oh my, what can I say about Joy that I haven’t said already here? So, will just say what I said earlier at the end of my review post – it is a joy to read this book.
Joy –> The Memory Keeper
The link: The loss of memories, and the love between grandmas and granddaughters!
The Memory Keeper –> Love, Ruby Lavender
The link: the love between grandmas and granddaughters + the stories and secrets they share!
Love, Ruby Lavender –> Dangerous Liaisons
The link: Love… albeit, differently, and both are epistolary novels!
Closing the loop with a lettered link, literally!
And Now, the End of This Post
Dear reader, have you read any of these books – in the #6degrees chain, or the one featured for the bookish five? What would be in your chain starting with Dangerous Liaisons?
