Five Fantastic Finds for Father’s Day
Sweet Picture Books for Father’s Day
Why a Daughter Needs a Dad and Why a Son Needs a Dad are both simply amazing and adorable and heartwarming reads that make great gifts for dad this Father’s Day.
Humor Dad Day
Make this Dad’s Day a LOL one when you gift dad these joke books written with dads in mind. Be it Dad Jokes or Super Dad Jokes, you will all find yourself ROTFL when you open these books to any page. Then there is Dad Jokes for New Dads with jokes for the to-be dad or recent-dad!!
Let Dad Know-it-All on Father’s Day!
Get your papa any one of these books so you can share cool facts and more at the next get-together. And make sure you don’t forget to ooh and aah when he does. But you will end up doing it for these are really cool things within the pages of these books below
- The Things We Make: The Unknown History of Invention from Cathedrals to Soda Cans
- The Book of Unusual Knowledge (Actually, this one is part of a series of 21 books , each of which can make an equally great gift! Maybe you can start a tradition and get one book each year, or for different occasions through the years..)
Make it a Fun Father’s Day
Is your dad a fan of The Office? Then this Double Dwight Resin Bobblehead is sure to make him smile and he will definitely keep it on his desk to make him feel better when he needs a break from work. Dwight will do double duty here to lighten his mood instantly!
For Star Wars fan-dads, you can get this Darth Vader LED Light / Desk Lamp. If he could some greenery, then this Star Wars Death Star 3-Inch Ceramic Planter with an artificial succulent might be ideal for him. Plus, I have some really adorable books you can pair with these (check out the books to gift dad post below).
Many More Cool Gifts
If you love the Yard House brand (I am sure you have heard of it), then this gift basket for dad will thrill you and the dad in your life too. Makes for a great and thoughtful father’s day gift for sure. You can get him the Musk and Blonde Woods combination, the Glacier Absolute, the Ocean Breeze, the Sandalwood Amber, the Smoky Sandalwood, or the Eucalyptus and Mint one.
While I would pick the sandalwood versions for other dads I know, for my DH, it will most likely be the musk option.
Use 15YHGIFTSET for a sweet 15% off.
Wrap it Up
And wrap it up with a card for dad! Personally, I am a big fan of pop up cards and have even attempted to make a few (with minimal success!).. But more on that DIY aspect in a separate post. For today, I want to share some of these cool cards for dad for father’s day and other occasions too…
There are so many of them that I cannot possibly share all of them in this post but am including my favorite five here…Each of these cards has stunning details and is meticulously hand-crafted. They make for not only a thoughtful addition to any gift to dad, but can be a gift in themselves, and will be a cherished keepsake for years to come.
This Fishing Bears card is so very adorable, while the I Lava You Dad card is very creative and love the word play! The Daddy Shark card might just makes it way home here for my DH does love the Jaws movies!! Or say it simply with this Best Dad Ever popup card. And if dad loves trucks, then this Classic Red Truck card will stay on his table for ages, it is so beautiful.
Use 15DADCARD for a 15% off on all father’s day cards.
More Fantastic Finds… for the Rest of Us (and Maybe Dad Too!)
Since it is the start of summer vacations here in the USA (and also ongoing in many other places in the northern hemisphere), I have some summer fun for the rest of us.. Dad will enjoy some of these too, so you can get it for him for father’s day.
Make Your Summer an Adventure
and then record it for posterity in this scrapbook style journal that looks so very vintage and cool, and is simply titled Our Adventure Book. I got one of these a few years ago for my daughter and she loved adding her vacation pics, tickets, and stories to it. It is now a family treasure on its own!
Book Nooks always Look Cool
I hope to finish making one of these DIY book nooks with my kids during the summer, and it might end up either on a bookshelf at home or in their rooms at college. Wherever the nook is, the one thing I know is that it is going to look awesome!
Would you pick the Secret Castle or the Diagon Alley Book Nook Kit? I might get one of each for myself or more than one, since I might up end up with none at the end if I just get two;)
Beautify Your Backyard
If you are going to spend your summer staycationing (like I will be doing for most of it this year), then you can spruce up your backyard or patio space and spend some of it there. Use this unique and beautiful Solar Lantern for your outdoors. It is waterproof and comes in two colors so you could get a few of both to enhance your space.
Get Some Games People Play
You can add some new games to your arsenal and have fun playing them with family and friends while relaxing in your decked up backyard this summer with these Conversation Cards kits.
You have many options here for you, including kits for kids, families, best friends, friends, co-workers, couples, grandparents, and new parents too! Be sure to use this coupon code 20PROMPTA for a 20% discount on the price!! As for me, I love such games which allow for having fun while spending time with loved ones, and discovering new things about them in the process! This can make a great Father’s Day gift too..
If you want a physical game, then this Golf Bucket Yard Game is great! Give it to dad for father’s day and dad can have some tee-time too, even while at the beach…
And I am finding these SWOOC outdoor games so very tempting. While my backyard space is limited and I might be able to get just one of these, sharing these with you for you might just love them too. This Giants Kicks Dartboard looks like so much fun, as does this 3 ft * 3 ft Tic Tac Toe Outdoor Game. If you loved the classic Connect 4 game, you will enjoy this giant outdoor version of it as well!!
Skin Care and Beauty from Solawave
And we need to take care of our skin while we get all this summer fun ready for the fam, so pamper yourself with some skin care products, like these from Solawave.
Plumping Peptide Lifting Serum
I loved the feel of both the moisturizer and the serum. They get absorbed quickly into the skin and leave my skin feeling hydrated and without that greasy feel, which is a plus. Also, there is no strong fragrance (which for me is a plus as well). I love that these are alcohol free and vegan too.
My daughter took hold of the mist toner and loves it while I forgot to mention I start my skin care routine (something I started only with this set of items now – never had one before) with the gel cleanser.
A great set of skin care products that are gentle on the skin while making me feel good. And the 25% off currently on for these items should make you feel good!!

The Bookish Memes Five
Today’s book is not one I am currently reading but one I just finished (the day before yesterday, in fact), and am still in a book-hangover over it. Abraham Verghese’s Cutting for Stone quickly gained a spot in my top ten favorite novels of all time the moment I read it. Now that I have read his Covenant of Water, I am wondering if I should just let the two novels share a spot!
The Covenant of Water by Abraham Verghese
Spanning the years 1900 to 1977, The Covenant of Water is set in Kerala, on South India’s Malabar Coast, and follows three generations of a family that suffers a peculiar affliction: in every generation, at least one person dies by drowning—and in Kerala, water is everywhere. At the turn of the century, a twelve-year-old girl from Kerala’s long-existing Christian community, grieving the death of her father, is sent by boat to her wedding, where she will meet her forty-year-old husband for the first time. From this unforgettable new beginning, the young girl—and future matriarch, known as Big Ammachi—will witness unthinkable changes over the span of her extraordinary life, full of joy and triumph as well as hardship and loss, her faith and love the only constants.

June 5th is World Environment Day. Can you suggest a book that has an environmental message or theme?
Many nonfiction books I have read over the years came to mind and a few fiction ones too. I am picking this picture book though for I think it is a stunning book. A visual treat to the eyes and a sweet narrative that gently gives the message of conservation to its readers.
The book – The Last Rainbow Bird. My review of the book is here.
A look into this book below (from my digital copy of the book)
5 Book Titles that Speak in Complete Sentences
May 31st is one of those quirky holidays – Speak in Complete Sentences Day. Keeping this in mind, here are a few books with titles that speak to the reader, for they are complete sentences! And Now, the End of This Post
Dear reader, which of these would you pick for yourself or a loved one? What about the dad in your life? Any suggestions for me or ideas?
Lots of great ideas here for Father’s Day. I’ve always had a hard time finding gifts for my father. You’ve got some great items listed here.
I have heard such great things about The Covenant of Water. I need to go back and read Cutting For Stone. I tried listening to the audiobook, and while I loved the narrator’s voice, I had trouble staying focused. I do much better with print when it comes to longer books, I think. I do think I would like both though. I hope you have a great weekend!
Thank you..I still cannot do audiobooks, and prefer reading books of all lengths for myself 🙂 Verghese’s writing left me astounded and with that book-hangover with each of these two books!! Wishing you a wonderful weekend as well
I loved the books/ little gifts you shared for Father’s Day gift ideas. I was just wondering what to get my husband for Father’s Day.

These are great things for Father’s Day. I was not familiar with any of these, and it is nice to have some ideas.
Thank you for sharing all these ideas. I haven’t shopped yet but this just reminds me to go shopping soon.
All are great gifts to give Dad. I remember giving my dad a humor book, and he really liked it.
Your suggestions will make it so much easier to find something special for my husband, and I love that many of the gifts are bookish and fun.
These are such good ideas for a Father’s Day gift. There’s something here for virtually every kind of Dad.
Lots of great ideas for Dad. What I would love to have is a book nook!
