Simply Sunday – Simply Memes..and announcing the giveaways..

Quite simply put, this week, I hope to get back to blogging more regularly! I do have giveaways lined up this week – so do come back and look for one on Tuesday and one on Wednesday this week!

He stood unmoving, unaware of all around him
In the shadow of the poster as the eyes seemed to look deep
inside
Could it be her? His memories were still dim
Something seemed to admonish him, deride
How can you forget? Come on, recall that night
Could this be the daughter he was searching for?
He remembered he stood in the neon pink light
Warm with a woolly little fella cuddled up on his coatless neck
then
The cold metal of his bicycle against his knees,
As he made the phone call, thinking, she would pick up the
one in the kitchen
He had waited, just one more ring, pick up please
And when no one had answered, he had run; No,
he had gone underground, but today he had returned, here,
He knew not why, not that he prefers to know
But as his memory seemed to return to its fullness, it was
clear
Color saturated his previously white skin
This was his daughter,
whose eyes stared out at him
He had, finally, he thought with a glad smile, found her
SY word of the week: saturate
“Do you think we had too much of the cough syrup or is the
air around us saturated with something?” (97 characters)

  1. I'm impressed that you can merge all of those prompts into one poem… two's my max. I especially like:

He remembered he stood in the neon pink light
Warm with a woolly little fella cuddled up on his coatless neck then
The cold metal of his bicycle against his knees

  2. Two good stories! You are very clever to be able to incorporate such disparate words in your OSI/SS/MT, and your SY is funny and clever. Kudos for using the WOTW!

  3. Nice Succinctly Yours, L.I.R. Reminds me that my ex-mother-in-law was hooked on Hadacol with its Hadacol back in the 50's. She liked me, bless her soul, she took my side at time for the Great Divorce.

Good use of the OSI prompt, 'Underground,' in your nice 'Finding of the Lost Daughter' poem. Reminds me of 'no place to hide.' I'm thinking that it was really hard to fit into that poem.

I run separates blogs and always have OSI on the P&P Place blog with and Succinctly Yours on the Little Blog. I don't do any of the other memes you are doing. You are brave.
